I really disagree with this decision. Rogue One and Solo were the best of the Disney Star Wars movies. The "episodes" were not as good.
And Rian Johnson has killed any future interesting storylines from happening. Doing these "midquels" during the interesting period of the Star Wars saga was the only viable option in my opinion.
Disney is incapable of creating an interesting new Star Wars era.
