Talk about the life consuming, celibacy inducing hobby that is all the rage these days.

John Carpenter's Sentinel Returns
Image
Beautifully composed by the master himself. Based as fuck aesthetic, can't wait to try this one out.
The NA cover isn't as sexy as the PAL or PC version though.

Apparently it's a first-person 3D puzzle kind of game.

Sentinel Returns is "popular obscure".

It's like an actual puzzle game.

Speaking of casual fun, I randomly stumbled upon eggy car the other day, and it’s way more addicting than it has any right to be. It’s one of those games where you think, "I’ll just play for a minute," and then an hour disappears. Simple concept, but oddly challenging. If you ever need a break from heavy narratives or skill-based mechanics, it's a solid way to kill time.

DHI'S BBRM IN: DEATH BY DEGREES

Totally luck'd out at the bargain bin today and scored this baby $5 loose. This game has been getting big in the independent angry videogame reviewer circles along with the other lost waifu games like cy girls or the ps2 gits:sac. This legit looks like a sweet game, but I think fell victim from an overly ambitious and confusing combat system utilizing mainly the analog stick ala Jet Li: Rise to Honor, but the graphics are beautiful with plenty of fanservice. The plot is of course laughable being Tekken but who cares as long as cool stuff is happening, I think in the later levels she straight up fights giant robots. I am so excite uwu

Does it have a bowling mini-game?

Also:
Paths of Achra

It's the end of the world, and I feel fine venturing into the Void to fight the King of Many Colors.
Or something like that. Fuck if I can make sense of the lore.

It's a fun little roguelike where a successful run can be completed in a fairly reasonable amount of time. It's also very streamlined in that there's an "do shit automatically" button, which you can press or hold down if you just want your dude to automatically move, attack, pick shit up and go to the next floor.

Characters are comprised of a combination of race, class and god, with 10 different skill trees to pour points into (though one character can never have powers from more than 3 different skill trees). Depending on how you spend your points, you will qualify for various prestige classes for even more fun.

There aren't a lot of active abilities you have. Aside from moving, attacking and standing still, each god also comes with 3 prayers, each with its own number of charges (and of course different conditions for gaining those charges).
All your powers and the other shit you get from your race/class/god/prestige class combo, as well as the effects from the gear you find? That shit's passive, and triggered on various conditions.
Naturally you want to set things up so that everything triggers everything else, in some glorious feedback loop that makes you consider uncapping the framerate so you don't have to wait 10+ seconds for all the explosions to complete.

There's some fun builds you can have, like dodge tanks, aoe spammers, summoners - or summoners who trigger aoe attacks on summon and can basically clear most floors before you can even make a single action.

Some builds require more fine control from you, like fast characters who can do hit & run attacks on sufficiently slower enemies, or characters relying on timed prayer chains.
The choice of where to go next after clearing one of the short dungeons is also important. You do not want to enter a dungeon full of enemies with high resistance to your main damage types (it's doable, but takes forever), and reading the fine print on enemy abilities is important as well because you can bet your ass that certain enemies are pretty good at countering certain builds.

I'm emulating the Dragon Quest 3 Remake.
Just like the antiwoke grifters lied about KAngdom Cum 2 not being woke at all, they blew the changes in the remake completely out of proportions.
The censorship on the female warrior is indeed idiotic, but outside of the 2D artworks of the promotional material is barely noticeable - the sprite has some brown pixels around the bikini armor area, that's it.

The genderless Yuusha is a stretch at best, completely made up at worst.
The game doesn't make you choose between body types, but it clearly states "you will play as a hero with appearance A, or as a heroine with appearance B".
And after i chose A, the message that appears when i find items on the ground states "[Custom Name] looks down at his feet".
This is like Elden Ring, a game that makes you choose between body types, but then the character Patches calls my body type A "a man of reason".
It's superficial pandering by Jap devs who really don't believe in the gender spectrum, and care even less.

I haven't seen the trolls yet, but if changing their lips from red to green will prevent woke mongoloids from crying racism, then so be it.
So far it's a better remake than the FF Pixel Remasters shit.
