In what way is Skyfall even remotely like The World Is Not Enough?Guest wrote: ↑Wed Sep 02, 2020 6:22 amI'm surprised they haven't started remaking the classic movies like they did The World Is Not Enough (Skyfall).

All James Bond movies after Goldeneye are shitty anyway.

Goldeneye is the prototypical Bond film. It has just about everything that defines the franchise.

I wholly agree. It's one that really nails every good aspect of Bond from across all the eras up to that point. The only recurring criticism I see is something about the music, and even that I think is BS. The music in Goldeneye's great. It's incredible that a franchise could spit out a movie this great 17 films in.da PAC Nigguh wrote: ↑Wed Sep 02, 2020 9:20 pmGoldeneye is the prototypical Bond film. Plus, the villain is basically himself. The story comes full circle. Perfect film. Fuck a Metal Gear Solid movie btw, just super impose a bandanna over Brosnan's head in that final fight scene and it's Snake vs Liquid and better.Rushy wrote: ↑Wed Sep 02, 2020 9:44 pmI wholly agree. Moore's biggest problem was dressing and behaving like a 70-year-old retired man with those big boomer sunglasses and flared trousers. There was a tv documentary from around that time where he's running around on a train in jeans and a leather jacket and seems considerably younger.CuckTurdginson wrote: ↑Wed Sep 02, 2020 6:36 pmThey're not going to make a fifth with Craig - with him pushing 60 and already hating doing it.
I mean - A View to a Kill has a great theme, but I really remember how tired Moore looked.
Re: Movie Thread
It's the same damn movie, cocklord. Bond gets a shoulder injury at the beginning that takes him out of active duty then is completely forgotten after the first act, MI6 gets blown up by a villain from M's past who wants to kill her, a hot French girl is involved.... Pervert & Wade "wrote" both movies.
License To Kill was a better series ending imo. He's broken ties with MI6 after they treated him like shit and tried to kill him, he avenged Felix, and now he's got the cute American girl who adores him. A fish even winks for chrissakes.CIANigger wrote: ↑Wed Sep 02, 2020 11:32 pmPlus, the villain is basically himself. The story comes full circle. Perfect film. Fucker cut out the winking fish! Here:
And no awful pun like he's the 3D Leisure Suit Larry. Class, pure class.
Obligatory mention of the pimp-ass gunbarrel:
And the amazing opening song:

They're not wrong, for reasons PAC said. But you could make a similar argument for Dr No, Thunderball or On Her Majesty's Secret Service. I have a soft spot for Man with the Golden Gun, too. Live and Let Die was fun.Guest wrote: ↑Wed Sep 02, 2020 9:10 pmI've got family who suggest that GoldenEye is the only good Bond movie
Nu-Bond is all shit though. Even the Brosnan movies post-Goldeneye aren't as good as Goldeneye. Not by half.
Edit: Goldeneye music bad? Get the fuck out!
