I do have to apologize for something. I can admit that even around 2015 when I was still part of the Sons of Kuckjima and even during the time that I was part of Renegade Operative’s side hustle the Infinite Ammo Syndicate where he tries to be as big as a grifter as any person that likes quote unquote “woke shit” and defend it to the death.
I’ve been using this form as a personal dumping ground for all the political and personal things I did not want to say around them. I’m really sorry for that.. I never expected you guys to be my therapist or my psychologist or something like that for the trauma that I’ve been dumping onto you guys. I just needed someplace any place where I could say this stuff because I knew that I didn’t have a place like that in real life and even now I’ve got too much going on in my real life too. Let my online trauma bleed into my real life.. like I said, I have kids to take care of it all.
But to be honest, you guys have really gotten me through a lot. I really don’t know what I would’ve done if I tried to deal with it all alone by myself, especially after their equivalent of trying to use cancel culture on me before it even existed. Back then I felt really alone because no one would listen to me, but now I don’t feel alone anymore, not in real life and not on the Internet
I appreciate you guys more than I ever appreciated them. Not that I’m trying to go there, but you guys were more my real friends than they ever were.
I’m just kind of talking on my ass right now, but I just wanted to say that. I honestly got nothing else to bitch about right now.

I'm glad that's settled then.
I'm a bit annoyed about not finding a pinball machine I'm looking for. About 2k would be a reasonable price in very good working condition (excluding something like a rubber or flipper coil change) and the only offer I can find is some business wanting 7k for one when that's absolute madness.
It's neither a rare or very popular one, nor have prices gone up all that much in general. For certain ones, sure. For very rare ones, yes. But not for the one I'm looking for.
I can't even find a shitty condition one at all!

You can’t even find one on eBay or something? that would be the first place I would look.
But I mean, if you’re looking for like antique pinball machines, I would imagine you’d have to find one of those arcade game suppliers that have their old arcade machines in a warehouse or something

Very cool but a bit complicated for my taste and likely expensive due to the licence.
One supplier offers one. That doesn't mean they have one. Often they will offer one up as restaurated but not actually have one in stock. They then just go find one, buy it, restaurate it and then ship it. That's why they will charge something like 7.5k for one when a fair market price would be 2.5k at most in absolute perfect working condition.
I got the one I currently have from one of those suppliers but they had it ready to go and I paid under 2k for it. That was a fair price at the time for a very good and actually rare one (under 200 units left). The one I'm looking for was produced in the thousands.
Nope. Actually none right now. Not even a broken one. I haven't looked outside of Germany but I'm not willing to cross national borders for one.
It's mid 80s so it's not like I'm looking for an old-as-dirt EM with a production number under 200 units.

That almost sounds like they’re pulling the same shit they do when they restore NES cartridges and shit. There’s no reason something like that should cost $7.5k unless they’re freaking scalping you. In which case it would probably just be cheaper for you to buy the one they buy and fix it up yourself.. That is the kind of fuckery I would not put up with.
You may not wanna cross national borders, but is there a way you could import a broken one to you or something? like there’s gotta be a work around here somewhere

The secondhand retro market is full of MetalJesusCucks types who have inflated the prices of everything. I don't know about pinball but I assume a similar situation.

I just have to prowl the forums and wait for one to come up from a private owner.
Businesses come with a one year warranty but even if stuff breaks it'll always be cheaper to just buy and fix whatever yourself. All the parts, even the PCBs, are available and cheap and I've got the skills to fix it. It's just a bit of soldering at worst anyway, a pack of rubbers is twenty bucks and you'll need to adjust stuff anyway.
Importing a broken POS is not an option. Again, it's not that rare. Even a totally fucked pin barely ever goes below 1k. I have seen a basically totaled Gorgar for 950€. That pin has 14k production units. That's massive in pinball. The highest volume is The Addams Family by Bally at 20k units.
So with solid state the buy in is basically 1k to 2k and fixing anything fixable is cheap unless you're talking some super rare pin that you actually can barely ever get.
What I'm looking for has over 3k units produced. That's large enough that someone has one not too far away right now in a condition I'd want but just isn't listing it for sale right now.
