I don't like the so-called "advanced" Sphere Grid, because it kinda blurs everybody together doing the same thing. With the burger grid version, you can more or less keep characters under their "classes" at the beginning and branch/"multiclass" as soon as you start getting the Warp/Key spheres. The only advantage I see is that it has less levels than the burger grid so you are forced to go outside of power-leveling to face end game challenges (then again, power-leveling doesn't really help to defeat Dark Aeons, you will need to rig the game with Rikku and Wakka to stand a chance anyway).

My favorite Sphere Grid-like system will always be Mana Khemia's Growth Book. It's unique for every character, it cleverly level caps you through certain parts of the game by hiding progression behind certain alchemy recipes not readily available (because, you know, the characters are in school and they don't get to learn advanced shit head on), and it's very satisfying to fill it up while playing.

And I also hope you've solved all puzzles in those temples on your first try, since when you can finally backtrack to every temple there's one of those mofos waiting for you.
