I've bitched about how lots of popular Youtube movie critics, such as Chris Stuckmann, seem to think that film history begins with "Star Wars" and they have extremely limited knowledge of the art form that they claim to love. That's my first thought about what media literacy means, though I don't think I've used that term myself.

But I just searched Twitter to see how people are using it and it appears to be a way of classifying interpretations of media. There are "correct" interpretations and "incorrect" interpretations and "media literacy" means embracing the "correct" ones
