He already has a guy do the voice of Jaden, the main character from that show, so its probably possible.Guest wrote: ↑Fri Aug 25, 2017 3:32 amDo you guys think he'll do abridged versions of gx and onwards?
I actually used to like the first seasons of yugioh, the thing with GX and after is everyone felt like a generic anime character when everyone in the pharoh saga felt like they had a little bit of personality and grounded into reality?

That guy dropped out if I remember correctly. He used to do his own Yugioh GX Abridged, which LK went with as being the 'official' version, and then quit for a music career.

I think whoever voiced the motorcycle bloke from 5Ds in that abridged crossover movie might've also done his own abridged show.
Basically he might come across as a bit of a backstabber if he does one of the other seasons. He might continue with Season 0 (he already did 2-3 I think), or do one of the newer seasons nobody cares about AFAIK.

Yugioh looks and sounds really like a dumb anime or a stealth parody of anime

That guy was doing his own GX show separate from Kuriboh. No idea if it's still up. If anything, Kuriboh will probably do that 5D's show, since he can do all the voices himself.mad bum wrote: ↑Fri Aug 25, 2017 3:44 amHe already has a guy do the voice of Jaden, the main character from that show, so its probably possible.Guest wrote: ↑Fri Aug 25, 2017 3:32 amDo you guys think he'll do abridged versions of gx and onwards?

And yes Charlar, it is. Weirdly the manga wasn't even supposed to be about a card game. It was a one off thing and for some reason the weebs reading it became obsessed with this fictional card game so the card game took over everything. Why? Just go play Magic: The Gathering or Pokemon if it absolutely HAS to be an animu. The Yu Gi Oh card game didn't even have rules that made sense for forever because it WASN'T MEANT TO BE AN ACTUAL GAME.

They zoned in onto the card game because that's where the money is made.
A shame, really. I quite liked the concept of "Ancient Egyptian spirit turns young boy into a more direct Jigsaw".
Knowing animu, they probably took themselves too serious.

Could be both. I've never watched anything beyond the Yugi seasons, but I guess later ones either became self-aware or took themselves too serious.

The first 6 volumes of the manga barely had anything to do with the card game, and it was exactly like you said: the Pharaoh turned Yugi into a machine of dishing cruel and unusual punishment to bullies. He may have even actually killed/soul destroyed a couple of those bullies, if I'm not mistaken (the guy who escaped prison who was immolated by burning vodka, the stupid guy who had his soul sucked and devoured by an Ancient Chinese mystical jar, a bunch of bullies that Yugi also burned using a can of spray and a cigarette...). And the bullies were complete monsters and perverts, some borderline rapist, as per usual in Nipponese school culture, I guess.VoiceOfReasonPast wrote: ↑Fri Aug 25, 2017 7:01 pmThey zoned in onto the card game because that's where the money is made.

However, Kazuki Takahasi went on to become one of the top richest mangaka of Japan, all thanks to the power of royalties friendship showcased through card games.
I never watched the rest of the seasons either, but I played some of the games. Yugioh GX I think took itself WAAAAY too serious, because apparently the protagonist turns eeeeevil and eeeeemo at some point until the power of friendship rescues him or some shit. All played as straight as Yugi himself.
But the character who really shines as the most pathetic of the bunch is Kaiba, who despite being a millionaire, goes to the extent of creating an holographic image of Yugi that he can finally beat in a card game. The parody self-writes itself at that point.
