It’s a sequel and prequel, think the present/past segments of True Detective if you ever saw that. It opens with this bitch nigress interrogating York who is only in his 40s but a balding weird corpse with gross hair and a brain tumor who’s toking 24/7. It’s an insult to the original. Fuck Swery.

At least in the present day segments he’s more like his old self, quirky and spergy. There’s even a hotel owner who takes on a different “persona” for each staff role, he’s black and calls Morgan boss in the handyman role so I’m sure that’ll be patched despite that being a common and not racist thing. In the opening he’s just a wreck, like it actually depressed me. They’re monitoring him and implying that he may be a serial killer, and if that’s the case I will find Swery and shove that switch case up his ass.

DP2’s “transphobia” was a nontroversy. Tranny character was actually treated well despite being a villain. She did bad things but in a fucked up stupid way has good intentions in the long run. Otherwise, she was respected, and use of her birth name (I refuse to say dead name) was never used to taunt or ridicule, only in proper context. Hell the character’s southern father even corrected himself in his last moments and acknowledged that he was just confused after the realization of her identity or whatever you want to call it. Changing it won’t help, it’ll just make the game awkward and even worse. It was so fucking unplayable I got a full refund and watched a sped up walkthrough online, glad I didn’t waste my time trying to play it.

Overall I refuse to acknowledge it exists. It had some moments but it’s a horribly made game with a plot that suffers from a lack of show don’t tell and even rehashes the original while adding nothing new to the character of Morgan. Say what you will about the first one but I found it playable and I in ironically liked it, long before the internet memed it to death too. I saw it on a shelf and thought “hey this looks cool” and went from there, no regrets.

Fuck Swery and fuck Nintendo for allowing such a poorly made piece of shit to be distributed. Glad I got it from a place with a lax return policy.

The original DP never needed a sequel in the first place. The story was remarkably closed, with no dangling threads left. But because it was a "hit," it was given a sequel. SWERY is a hack and DP was good in spite of rather than because of him. Spy Fiction is fun too. The other shit he made looks turbo homosexual.

It worked because it was a less confusing Twin Peaks with an actual conclusion. The characters are interesting and the story is actually told well, despite the paranormal crazy stuff.
It's got a very giallo feel to it, threading the line between B-movie and art, serious themes and not taking itself too seriously. It's SWERY's lightning in a bottle and the faggot has no clue how he got there or how to catch it again. It's a fluke.

Making me want to play DP. Unfortunately the reviews for the PC version make it sound so buggy that it makes Bethesda games look stable. Might even be better off with the shit framerate Switch version.

First off, the director's cut is faggy as hell. It includes a bunch of gay costumes and skins that ruin the tone (believe it or not, not everything in DP is supposed to be silly), it runs like ass and the ONLY selectable difficulty is easier than the "easy" mode from the original release.

Might as well watch someone play the game. The gameplay would be fine IF there were an option to select the difficulty options from the original game. The director's cut is a fucking abomination and it's the primary version out there right now. The director's cut is so piss-easy (easier than the easiest mode in the OG) that there's no point even playing the game.
