These communities like "Mental Health Twitter" are all about reinforcing each other's fears and dragging each other down. They are superficially based on the concept of 12 step programs, except those (as gay as they are) are developed around the idea of progressing. These people on the other hand are convinced they are irreparably broken and devote themselves to describing how they're broken, sharing details of how they're broken and reminding one another that they can't be put back together again. The whole community is really one of the most fucked up things on the internet when you think about it, and that includes the people who meet up to cook and eat each other or dress like cartoon dogs and fuck.

Step #1 is admitting you have a problem.
In a sane world, Step #2 would at least reflect some intent to solve or address that problem.
With shit like this, however, Steps #2-∞ are to revel in the problem forever. Any suggestion to invoke the sane world's version of Step #2 is met with glazed-over eyes that say, "S-solve? No no no, the world needs to change to accommodate me!"

Somehow during the short but very interesting "Googles wants to spoon with the Spoony" saga, I completely overlooked Spoony's supposed weeb ambitions.
I could ask several questions regarding his motivations, and/or how he thought he could totally get this real language teacher offering from his totally real friend, but my hunch is that he was just trying to make this tweet chain about himself.
