Agreed completely. Rick sucks, he’s an unlikable nihilistic sociopath. Early on they tried to give him some heart, but abandoned that for more derp appeal and whatnot.

It’s the same reason I’ll take Bob’s Burgers any day over something like Family Guy. They focus on being funny without going for edgelord offensiveness or political bullshit. It’s subdued humor, and it works.

I agree, but Toby Faire, Bob's Burgers did start out being kinda edgy with its bad flash animation, but luckily for that show it evolved into something more quirky I guess how you would describe it from the few episodes I've seen.
Same thing with Rick's character happened with Duckman, one of my personal favorite shows. He seemed to be caring but in terms of his personality, it went downhill. Except that show was actually good.

Bob’s quickly found its stride and has stayed fresh for me, season 1 is a bit different but it quickly finds its niche.

Ah man Duckman was rad, the difference is while Rick had virgin meme Morty as a bitch Duckman had Cornfed to balance out with, a fantastic character with a voice of pure gold, not to mention the rest of the supporting cast.

New Reddit and Memey is pretty standard fair for them. They gotta insert their various virtue signaling shit though. Rick keeps winding up in literal nazi universes and remarks "MAN WHEN DID THIS BECOME THE NORM?!" to get those Drumpf points, and a hologram of Rick forces his holographic existence down everyone's throats as "holophobic". Can Dan Harmon and co. simply die already?

Eh I love both Ren and Stimpy and Beavis and Butthead. Hell the latter has to be (if not) the best cartoon revival you could have. Aside from the breaks reflecting what trash MTV has become, it still manages to be timeless, much like Ren and Stimpy, if you take away the fact the both inspired many cartoons afterwards.

And speaking of Ren and Stimpy, I didn't really care for the post-Spumco episodes like most people have. The ones where you can tell they didn't give a shit with the character models are the ones I can't stand.

Beavis & Butt-head is cool, but it always annoyed me that Mike Judge decided to Georgelucased his own show by only including the censored versions of the episodes on the official DVD sets and he didn't even include all the episodes (I can forgive leaving out the music videos, seeing the license hell they would have to go through to include all of them). Thank God piracy is a thing.
