Also WTF triggered those evil Trump supporters with Lightyear? Was there some isolated background homo that could be easily cut out for the Chinese market?
Pretty much, yeah. I think there's a lesbian couple who kiss.

I don't remember conservatives 'freaking out' about it. I remember them laughing that it bombed and lamenting that they went and replaced Tim Allen because he's conservative

Pretty much. Especially since Lightyear got banned from multiple countries because the lesbian shit was front and center with no ability to hide it.

Lightyear is Pixar's second biggest bomb to date, behind Turning Red. Curiously, the media never discussed how much money the latter lost after getting pushed to Disney+.

Here's hoping the upcoming Elemental will complete this hat-trick of fail.
Unless Luca was already underperforming. That one came and went without anyone caring, afaik.

Disney is generally in turmoil. So, of course, to address this issue they went and rehired Iger, who was responsible for the turmoil in the first place

Can't help but laugh at the shills who're praising Iger's return over ousting Chapek when the latter was clearly set up as the scapegoat for the former's blunders.

Yeah I groaned at people praising the move pointing if anything Disney doesn't blame the movies for being woke for their failures. They blame the movies not being woke enough.

It also shows that the Board of Directors, like Black rock, run Disney. Chapek didn't. This isn't like Warner or Twitter where the CEOs run the show.

So will they once more start gobbling up other IPs and studios in a desparate attempt to make a profit?

That's why their movies keep failing. Right now, they're in the Uncanny Valley of wokeness

Honestly the woke shit is just the cherry on top of the shit cake. Their movies would be terrible even if they weren't woke.

Disney's problem is that it's a collapsing empire. It's been one for a long time. That's why they buy up shit. They buy up everything in the hope that no one will notice how completely creatively devoid they now are. They noticed this themselves right around the time they noticed the kids coming to Disneyland were spending more time hanging around with Buzz Lightyear and Woody than they were Mickey or Goofy, so they bought Pixar outright.
