Max Landis was only ever accused of being vaguely "abusive". Apparently not even physical, since they would've been explicit about it.

Any neurotic bitch that would fuck Max deserves every ounce of him being an asshole. That's his only redeeming quality.

Maybe if Max wrote or directed something even slightly decent people would’ve cut him some slack.
