This is why it's better just to get a new PC. For what they're scalping GPUs for you can get a good quality pre-built with a high-end GPU

I think you've misunderstood somewhere.

Let's take for example what I've got, which is an NVIDIA Geforce RTX 3070. Scalpers are selling this for 2 grand. For 2 grand you could buy an entirely new PC. Take the parts you want, in this case the GPU, then sell everything else (the case, the motherboard, the CPU) third party.
