Mutual aid is solidarity, not charity. It’s a community coming together after a disaster. It is something MUTUALLY beneficial.

I’ve both received and given monetary help on the internet. I know people don’t like to think of themselves as a “charity case” and that is a stigma you need to get over.

There is nothing wrong with receiving charity. There is nothing wrong with receiving help. There is nothing wrong with allowing other people to be nice to you.

Break down those barriers that tell you that accepting charity is bad and you have to call it mutual aid. Otherwise, your bias is showing.
