I heard they made some changes to Mordred, Camelot, Who raise Arthur and the invaders being from the wrong time periods, any other changes they made?
As if Hollywood would care about the different periods of the Dark or Middle Ages. They just eyeball it depending on how dirty they want everything to look.

Also this is King Arthur, which is basically fantasy to them.

It's a fantasy about a wizard and a magic sword in a fantasy land called Camelot. Does being historically accurate really come into play here? (There are Vikings threatening to invade, if that matters.)

The swordplay is iffy. There are a couple of decent but short fights with the villain, but when Arthur fights regular folk with the sword it's really fast and full of CG because it's PG-13 and they can't show people being sliced in half. It's interesting, but don't expect anything mind blowing in that regard.

On the other hand, I just watched XXX 3 and it was a fucking endurance test. After King Arthur, which took chances despite its mega budget, watching such a generic piece of crap pissed me off. I was shaking like a SJW outside of xir's safe space!

Probably not, tbh. I don't think there even are a lot of adaptations who get the period right - if there even is a right period to begin with (depending on whether or not you count possible inspirations for the myth).

I saw a version on TV once that tried to portray the historical time period. It was called King Arthur, the Young Warlord, which I just learned is a compilation film of a UK TV series called Arthur of the Britons. I saw this as a kid and don't really remember much about it, except their clever reworking of the sword in the stone scene.

I remember a Don Rosa take on the legend where Scrooge and gang travel back in time and find out that Arthur was basically a dirty warlord.

Now why in the fuck would you do that? I like Vin Diesel and the first XXX has some nostalgia for me because I used to shout quotes of it (in it's glorious PG13 terribly translated awfulness) with a friend of mine but nothing would bring my ass to the seat to watch that crap.

Thankfully, it was a Redbox rental so I only lost $1.50 and two hours of life, which was still too much.

I will say that it does FEEL like a sequel to a shitty 2002 Vin Diesel movie. It's so generic and blandly directed that it's like an old movie that got sucked into a wormhole before popping back out 13 years later.
