I don't care to analyze the legality of everything to see if JW was technically illegal or not. Fingerbanging someone when they are unconscious and told you no is illegal. The rest can sort itself out. We only know what we know and there's probably more stuff JW did that we will never know.

Pretty much. Everyone who hid the story is a bad person and should feel bad. The CA higher ups who actually made the decision to fire JW probably did as much as they could do legally. It's a slightly different relationship when you're a boss and not a co-worker. I doubt Michaud did anything to cover up JW's crimes. He probably was under legal advice to do what he did and then leave it.

Honestly, just part of a longer discussion and replying specifically to a bit about what CA and Holly should have done leading up to Magfest. I'll stand by that, going on what little there is to know right now, that there really wasn't much they could do.

My original beef with the mess is the people (again, not here) saying that everyone by Doge, Rob and Mike should be lauded for respecting the victim's privacy, but that CA should be raked over the coals for the same thing.

I checked Maryland legal codes. For the MAGfest rape, it'd be Sexual Offense in the second degree. Off chance third, but I doubt it. Not that it matters, Sexual Offense and Rape have functionally the same punishments. So he'd be looking at a prison term of 15-20 years on that.
