So I’ve been listening to the rampant whining about AI and so called oppressed artists and it got me thinking, how do these Cal Arts garbage piles make literal OCdunsteal loving homages of existing media their was muh childhood and not see themselves as hypocrites?

All of the seething over AI is hilarious, but don’t get it twisted: AI is just a scapegoat. Studios have been looking for an excuse to fire modern animators for years, because they weren’t making hits and they were destroying their brand by virtue signaling on Twatter. And thanks to COVID lockdowns, inflation, and high gas prices, these studios finally have a convenient excuse to “downsize”.

Watched "Oliver and Company" with family. I hadn't seen it since it came out when I was a kid. It's considered "mid" Disney by animation enthusiasts. But it seems like a masterpiece by today's standards.
IMHO, the Disney company died when they closed their 2D animation division. I've never seen any of their 3D abominations nor the dogshit live action rehashes.

We had it so good in the good old days that we paid little attention to the merely "decent" Disney flicks.
Even stuff like the DuckTales and (the first) Goof Troop movies were miles ahead whatever they're shitting out these days.

IMHO, the Disney company died when they closed their 2D animation division. I've never seen any of their 3D abominations nor the dogshit live action rehashes.

The only reason why their animation studio survived this long without 2D features, is because of John Lasseter. So it only makes sense to fire him while he’s making box office hit after hit after hit
