This is a misunderstood gaming grail. The Best Metroid Game easily. (although Metroid games generally suck). This titan reveals Samus's childhood, and is more canon than the Prime series could ever dream of being. How could this be in the bargain bin for $9 when Sakamoto said it's his masterpiece? Super Metroid is the one exception. Anything that came after is just SM with dumb gimmicks, and the outdated older games have long since remade into being SM with dumb gimmicks.
Plus the series' attempt at having a barebones plot just forces the writers to keep reusing the same "Turns out the Metroids aren't extinct after all" twist over and over again.

Nah, Zero Mission is great and Dread was pretty cool as well. I've recently replayed both and they hold up well.
Especially Dread has just about the greatest movement of any 2D game this millennium. It's super satisfying just to run and jump in that game.

It's many people's favourite. Not as railroaded as Fusion and modernised controls to Super standards.
A GBA SP (AGS-101 model number for the back-lit screen. Pick one up if you ever find one in a gaming store or flea market!) or GB Micro with Zero Mission beats any other form of mobile gaming.
