Yeah, a return that's been anticipated since the fucking Lyndon Johnson administration, and it's in a glorified She Hulk episode. Fuck you, with a spiked 1000 degree dildo.

You couldn't do it in the 60th anniversary special with Tennant, could you? No, that would have been too competent. You couldn't do it with Peter Capaldi, who fucking loves the original era and literally asked for this storyline to be completed. It had to be in this shitshow. After 61 years. Fuck you.

Capaldi’s run was fine there were a few decent episode the show had just ran it’s course by then. Matt Smiths final episode was basically Doctor Who Endgame.

Afaik by that time the Doctor himself has also reached Steven Seagal levels of flanderization, unironically going "I'm the fucking Doctor. Look me up, ye vermin, and despair" when threatened.

To be honest, aside from Eccleston the entire revival series is a flanderized version of Doctor Who.

I love it when he cuts loose. There's a great moment from a recent con where someone asks what it would take to bring him back to Doctor Who and he just starts listing every single current producer's name and says they must be fired.

True it’s kinda hilarious watching classic who after starting with new version because classic who is 90% the doctor being captured, sent to death and saved by complete dumb luck.
