Re: What are you playing?
I do agree, but the rest of the game is super fun.
Also if you play as Ninja, you can just up+throw enemies to multi hit the glass cage.

Re: What are you playing?
Well, the boss is annoying no matter what you do. Ninja has a hard time finding the opportunity for damage because his air attack is slow. But he has the advantage that you can hit multiple times while you are invincible by spamming the up throw at the right angle/distance from the glass. With Yasha or Yaksa or however you spell that, I think you have to do an up grab air combo with the right spacing. I don't know if Kunoichi can do sword flips to hit the glass. But she also has her hair flip toss and some other air moves that I think can reliably hit the glass.
However, I must still reiterate the boss fucking sucks. It's also not nearly that bullshitty in the SNES version. Certain bosses were massively upgraded from the SNES, like Jubei.
I have the 1cc for this game iirc. I think I got it with Ninja. It was partially luck though. The other part is abusing copious i-frames so you're almost never able to be damaged when enemies are onscreen. The nunchucks are completely invincible when they are out, in both meter burn and combo finisher forms. Your hitbox fucking disappears.

Yeah, I'm playing as Ninja. The boss is just retarded. Throws everything you learn throughout the game completely out of the window.

Re: What are you playing?
ALL of the tracks for Ninja Warriors Once Again are brilliant.
It's also one of the only beat em ups to have a legitimately awesome story. Most of the story is told through gameplay but you get sweet blurbs at the start and end of the run. It's basically Terminator (except not faggy like the later terminator movies) and you are the terminator. You try to kill an evil despot, and if you succeed then your brand of terminators becomes the evil enforcers of the future despotic regime.
Because you're just a robot, maaan.

There is no way to survive the end of the game either. Your robot self-destructs no matter what, even if you get the 1cc.

You have to grab and throw enemies in the general direction of Not-Trump.Kugelfisch wrote: ↑Tue May 06, 2025 12:39 pmYeah, I'm playing as Ninja. The boss is just retarded. Throws everything you learn throughout the game completely out of the window.
With Kamaitachi it seems to work even if the enemy lands completely below the glass panel.
I wouldn't say that you have to throw everything you learned out of the window, but it's a very cheap and lazily designed boss fight.
It has that late 80s/early 90s vibe that completely disappeared from entertainment - Japanese or otherwise - later on, replaced by snarky faggotry.
Speaking of faggotry, if you like Danganronpa, the spiritual successor The Hundred Line is better.
Many similar things in the plot and setting, but it's a strategy JRPG instead of a Phoenix Wright clone, and it's much longer - the second half of the story is the new game+ .
The localization is the usual trash - no polidicks, but Reddit lingo here and there, and the translators found any excuse they could to use the pronoun "them" for singular characters until their identity is revealed, even though you can obviously tell if they are women or men.
Do you have any problems figuring out the gender of this?
The clowns used the pronouns they/them even with obvious women and men, simply because they were wearing masks.
I'm playing with the Jap audio and, judging by some clips i've seen on Youtube, the Eng dub is the worst piece of shit i've ever listened to in my life - there's a highschool girl who sounds like an old Karen, and another one like a troon (likely like the VA).

I can't even stand good English dubs because even there the VAs keep sounding annoying and retarded. And it only gets worse with lesser dubs.I'm playing with the Jap audio and, judging by some clips i've seen on Youtube, the Eng dub is the worst piece of shit i've ever listened to in my life - there's a highschool girl who sounds like an old Karen, and another one like a troon (likely like the VA).

The Metal Gear Games were usually pretty well done in that department. Senator Armstrong is iconic!

Re: What are you playing?
Somehow a cozy gacha game has generated on of the biggest gacha-related dramas this year.
The 1.5 update of Infinity Nikki that coincided with the Steam release and added a co-op mode to the game effectively retconned and replaced the entire story and premise up to this point. Apparently they wanted an in-story explanation for the co-op and just turned the plot into some multiverse nonsense.
And here I was looking forward to dressing up my waifu. Sad
EDIT: As an extra bonus the update also riddled the game with bugs, including a soft-lock that can happen during the retconned tutorial stage that is mandatory for new players and old alike.
