I'm pretty confident Lewis is deeply burned out on making AT4W. He's all but abandoned his storylines, he's more cynical every time I see him and he seems incapable of getting anything done on time anymore.

I think that deep down he wants to scrap most of his projects, but he's too stubborn to let ANYTHING go. He keeps himself going with pure spite and denial.

It is possible he got burned out from the unmitigated disaster that was his management of the Contest of Champions, but as I keep reminding everyone here I think it's his autism holding him back.
At least that's what I got from this old update.

I had originally set a deadline in January to have it done by then or else just make a video explaining what was SUPPOSED to have happened and just make that the canon ending, but after all the investment into this finale, the only way I’m going forward is by finishing this.

His storylines are effectively dead because his CGI race guy has most likely checked out, and probably also a good chunk of the actors he'd need for this (I doubt the cockpit bits have already been filmed because he's an idiot).
He could just do his original plan and simply explain what was supposed to happen in this fantastical race sequence upon which everything else hinges. Or pay his title card artist to draw him a page or two of the events.
In fact, that should've been his plan form the start. He's a comic book reviewer. Nobody would complain if everything turned into comic panels for particularly effects-heavy scenes.
But no, he needs this race sequence done for his peace of mind, and he can't just continue his storyline regardless because everything must be filmed and released in chronological order (skipping the race or the time being probably took a lot of convincing). He's potentially slowly going insane because this CGI race guy is holding everything hostage.
Should his storyline ever continue, I can guarantee you that he'll return to just playing every character himself, as he's too dumb to figure out how to properly schedule and shoot shit with an actual cast.

I bet asking for the compilation movie or the next storyline will get you banned on his Discord.
