In the early 2000s i created a free troll account on a dating site; all the info the account contained was a fake name, and that i was a woman.
I didn't upload any picture, and i left all the descriptions of my looks blank.
Even though the only info i put on that site was "i'm a woman", in less than an hour i got showered by likes, messages and emails from thirsty idiots who wanted to know me.
It's because of those losers, who were already a thing in the early 2000s, that now the Jamie Marchi out there believe they can pick and choose.
It's probably not just thirst that motivated those guys; they join the site, see that steroid-man's profile received likes, see that no woman contacts them or gives them a like - because they already have simps in the dozens giving them attention - and become desperate for validation.

Well yeah, online dating is like the worst possible market for a man to be in. Thousands of men are all throwing themselves at whatever woman is on there. The desperation is so extreme and the thirst so powerful that even the worst quality of woman has a hundred choices.

Online dating also heavily depends upon your ability to have good photographs of yourself. Taking good pictures is a skill like anything else, and some people don't know how to present themselves. But even if you have a strong fashion sense and good photographs, it's also the numbers game at work. Way more men than woman are on those dating websites and the ones who are on there are way desperate too. Woman have all the power in that environment, because they're the ones choosing which guys get a first date or not.

I've seen plenty of chantal types on those dating websites who still have a laundry list of qualities they expect from a partner. It's quite amusing. Online dating brings out the worst in women. Probably the worst in men too, given how many women bitch about receiving a flood of dick pics.

Problem is, online dating is pretty much all that is left.

I feel you. I think it depends what city you are in. If you don't have a lot of young(ish) people in your area then you aren't going to see a lot of them when you're out and about. Online dating also does have the advantage of weeding out people who are already in relationships (mostly) and people who aren't interested in dating at all.

You misunderstand. I'm not attempting to find anyone. I'm deeply anti-social and fine with being alone.

It's just a general statement about the absolute state of the world. I can't imagine what it would be like to be young in this dating market.
Imagine having to compete with the free attention and desperate gifts from simps and simultaneously the best-looking dudes in your entire area.
Even some 4 gets all the narcissistic supply she could ever wish for, plus dick from dudes "out of her league" because an in-person approach for a casual fuck isn't even necessary anymore.

And then I am and was a decent-looking dude that is easy going and popular. IRL I am not this absolute asshole that I'm on here, believe it or not.
We are just at a hellish age for dating. Women in their 30s got mean shit going on. They either have kids that are too young to ignore or they are desperate to get some by any means necessary.
That's scary as Hell to me! I don't engage with that shit.

Its just that back then a girl couldn't get that dopamine hit from some ugly dude. They did and still do find them disgusting in person.
But getting validation from a distance, PMs on dating apps or likes and thirst comments on Fagbook or Instafag grants them that without having to actually see the sweaty sub5 dude.

Shit, just imagine being 21 right now in general. Everything sucks for them!

The real problem is honestly that simp behavior is too ingrained at this point. Too many generations of men without fathers in their lives never letting them know what's up. You can't expect women to change because they don't need to. There's nothing forcing them. And yeah, you gotta brave that single mom minefield if you're in the 30s right now. What's nice though is the DINK lifestyle has become a cultural thing now, so there are actually some women committed to the nokids way. I don't think that shit even existed back in the 1950s.

Sheeeit, the younger kids have it so much worse too, like you said. I remember when online dating websites were actually free. They were shit yeah, but they didn't cost any money to use. Apparently all those websites are now paywalled to fuck. I don't know for sure but that's what I hear.

Rom Wills is dead-on about one thing: the women are the ones who choose. Always and forever. Women make the initial choice and then the man makes a choice later on about whether or not he's gonna wife the bitch up (or just keep her as an easy lay.) So if you're a man and you can't make it past the initial choice stage that's just all she fuckin' wrote. You can't force a woman to choose you unless your name is rapeculture.

That's assuming that a man wants to get with a woman of course, and isn't just full-on embracing being an incel or the monastic lifestyle. Or if they're gay/bisexual. I guess in a way, bisexual and gay men have it easier.
