So as it turns out, the Serious Sam games are pretty good. In the past i used to always quit after a level or two because i had already committed an entire Nanjing Massacre by then and felt saturated, but lately i kept playing through the entirety of some of the games and actually enjoyed them, even though some genius had the bizarre idea to change the entire artstyle with basically every game.

Windjammers 2 is pretty great! The new mechanics work very well and the classic gameplay is fully intact.

How's the netcode, and how are the single player options? These are the only two areas where I have misgivings, given DotEmu's track record.

Netcode seems fine. There are several delay options and it has rollback.
As for single player content, it's pretty bare. As was the original Windjammers. You have a short arcade mode with two bonus games. It's really not meant to be a single player game.

It's a shame, because I don't really play online multi much. I usually play single player in all my games. I always appreciate when primarily multi-focused experiences include some shit in there for single play, like how soul calibur 2 had all those extra modes. So even if the game is really good, it sounds like it doesn't have much for me. I'm also a little curious how much longevity windjammers 2 will have online.
