My state going full tyrant happened so fucking fast. Before this lockdown our government avoided lockdowns and were bragging about how they will never need to do one since we have handled outbreaks before. They avoided mask mandates for ages (late last year/early this year, and that was solely to shut up Karens) and only said you had to wear them indoors. All of their measures were actually science based unlike Victoria which went full tyrant right away. Most people didn't think we'd even go into lockdown since we hadn't done that shit since March 2020, it's been mild restrictions.

But because that strategy didn't work for Delta they have overcompensated like crazy and are clearly panicking. They are trying any stupid shit and praying that it works but it isn't doing anything. The only plan they have now is to mass vaccinate and more dumb restrictions that are literally doing nothing to stop the spread. 75% of the spread is from people living in the same home as an infected person, which is probably why the idiots are trying to remove people from their homes into quarantine hotels. They want to go back to zero cases so fucking bad and aren't thinking clearly at all, it's pure fear, incompetence and selling vaccines.
