There's like 10 different distros, and my personal observation is that every single one if full of fucking assholes that just want to flail their Linux-peen around and not actually help or educate people so their community can grow. What good is a free OS if it's unusable by most end users (myself included)?

I think it also doesn't help that the "industry standards" for Linux can be pure dogshit, but you still have to learn them since they're the only ones guaranteed to be on every Linux distribution (because fuck you, end user).
I mean, I swear Vim's keybindings and overall controls have been designed to make you look like a complete moron during IT class.

It's not about what we want. After over twenty years and zero work experience nobody would humour his application for a tech job for even a nanosecond.

Truth is, he could send out twenty applications a month for just about anything and he currently would have very slim chances of getting something.
He is 40, looks like hell warmed over, is antisocial, has no qualifications or experience in anything, no motivation and is a wreck both physically and mentally. Any job he'd miraculously get he would lose that same month, if not week.
God forbid anyone was to Google his name and find his Twitter account.

Like i said before, his only chance to find a job is entering a program for the mentally ill and ex convicts.

Linux

What good is a free OS if it's unusable by most end users (myself included)? For context, I used MINT on a side machine for awhile, just to see. It comes laid out basically like Win7 was, that's cool! I even used some basic audio recording software on it. My problem with MINT and Linux in general was that for any action I wanted to perform, I would have to go deep into the command prompt and tell it to function. Now, am I 100% spoiled by commercial OS where most of that grunt work is taken care of behind the scenes? Absolutely. Did I ask for help to try and learn Linux/MINT better? Totally, I'm willing to learn and got things working eventually to the degree I wanted and it was interesting. Were the Linux geniuses helpful? No. Any education or clarification i received was from other PC normies like myself who had it way worse than I inb4 "It's freeware bro!", I get it, when you're not getting paid to develop a full OS there's no incentive to add quality of life improvements. Linux devs are still pricks.

I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I've recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux...

i have a colleague that does all his program on Vim, and the goddamn bastard managed to turn that shit into basically an IDE by memorizing a lot of macros. He can simulate Eclipse's "click to follow to definition" functionality by doing just a couple of keystrokes. Meanwhile I only recently memorized that the "undo" function is in fact bound to they "u" key, and that Ctrl + Z is the retarded way of doing it because of course it means something else on the shell.

In his current state he can't do shit because he doesn't want to do anything.
However, Noah could do lots of jobs, he isn't truly disabled. He just needs to show up on time and put forth a half-assed effort. You don't need any experience to work in most retail, food service, warehouse, or custodian jobs. Low-level mechanical work(oil & battery changes). Many security/watchmen positions. None of it is going to glamorous, high-paying, or fun, but unless you're a sex offender you can find a job.

Nothing. It just seems like getting a job even shoveling up horseshit is harder to get over there than it is over here.
