Like you said, you’ll eventually drop dead from a venomous snakebite, or at least be in really shit shape. He’s also slightly wrong about their aggression too. Some snakes are more aggressive and will come at you, and while that’s not the case for all, what makes them dangerous is that they’ll creep up on you and then bite once you startle them. The best way I’ve heard them described are slithering biological land mines.

I mean, I guess I'll give him credit for saying (correctly) that venomous snakes don't want to use their venom on humans? The venom is very costly for them to produce and it is intended for use in hunting prey. Since they can't eat a human, they'd rather not waste it. That's why rattlesnakes rattle-to let you know they are there and you need to fuck off.

Just because the fucking thing doesnt kill you straight on doesnt mean its not lethal, rattle snake venom is hemotoxic and will fuck you up from the inside, try to get that shit treated as fast as possible because the longer it takes you the more damage the venom will do to your internal organs. Even if treated, there might be long therm effects. I think Rattlesnake venom is specially hard on the kidneys.

Not only are they lethal, the two most lethal snakes in the USA are both diamondback rattlesnakes.
