Re: Movie Thread
Tarantino's Basterds. It was my first Tarantino film, so I'm a bit confused as to what the point of it all was. Just having these oddball characters interact?
Waltz was the shit, though. Shame they blew his Blofeld in Spectre, because he was practically gift-wrapped to the producers.

You've never seen Pulp Fiction? I'd call that mandatory.

Yeah, fuck that movie. Hell, fuck that franchise. The original TCM is a masterpiece and 2 is a pretty good comedy but every other TCM movie is shit. I think Hellraiser is the only major horror franchise that has suffered more than TCM.
Go watch Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction and Jackie Brown. Those are Tarantino's best films.

I'd add True Romance to that. Tony Scott directed it but it's basically a Tarantino film in every other respect, apart from the ending.

Meh. It's ok. I think the three Cuckara mentioned are the best. I do really like Inglorious Bastards, but it's somewhat of an atypical film for Tarantino. It plays more like a sweeping alternate historical epic rather than his more usual offbeat crime drama/comedy stuff.Keith Chegwin wrote: ↑Sat Jul 29, 2017 4:23 pmI'd add True Romance to that. The Hateful Eight or whatever was okay, but really felt like Tarantino jerking himself off over how smart he thinks he is. The best thing about that movie was Shane from The Shield. But Goggins is the best thing about every movie he's in. He was the best thing in Predators as well. Kurt Russel was garbage imo. Really confirms that his best acting is in his past and he can't hack it anymore. He was shit in Death Proof too.

Re: Movie Thread
At least TCM never went into fucking space. I don't know why so many horror franchises (Hellraiser, Friday 13th, fucking Leprechaun) kept doing that
Autism attracts more autism. Sooner or later, an internet nobody will attract the exact kind of fans - and detractors - he deserves.

As someone who really enjoys franchises, I must agree with what you guys said of TCM... the original is impeccable(save for that one scene of the Cook whacking the girl with a broomstick) and TCM 2 is a huge guilty pleasure of mine.
I should say TCM 3 is half-decent too, but nowhere near the first two and the rest is shite.
Looking forward to watching the Hellraiser films, despite their terrible reputation. Doge Bradley seems like a total badass.
I do want to see more of Tarantino's stuff, as he has a great knack for dark, offbeat humor, but Basterds was just very... odd. I enjoyed the experience, but it didn't come together very well. Waltz and Pitt were really the only reasons to keep watching til the end.
