But it's not going to hurt Doge's career because he'll keep pumping out new videos and never acknowledge the backlash. That's why the guy has lasted this long.

Every once in awhile Doge makes a video that's so undeniably horrible even his fans hate it, but the backlash never has long-term consequences. Doge is strangely un-killable; he very nearly destroyed himself with Demo Reel, but the second he brought back the Nostalgia Critic, he started pulling in tons of views again, and his viewership hasn't dropped off since.

He's unkillable for the very simple reason that he never connects with the backlash. Thus giving his fans the perception that he's above even commenting on the issue. He's just gonna keep doing his thing and they're like "meh, fair enough" and get bored of sniping. Same with James Rolfe.

I think the only time he actually addressed stuff was when he did Bart's Nightmare. And that was such a complete departure from format that pretty much nobody expected more anyway.
