His mind is and was too childish for anything beyond pre-schooler level understanding. He wouldn't know what the fuck to make of SMT.

All the Shadow story shit in SA1 and 2 is literally OweTheEdge.jpg. Shadow has that mixture of edgy teen angst and pure autism than true spastics and tismlords love. It's the same reason autistic black nerds love yougaybro and naruto.Keith Chegwin wrote: ↑Sun Sep 22, 2019 5:12 pmHas it? I don't read Sanic fanfiction, so I don't know if Sanic autists writing really dark, disturbing Sanic fanficition is a phenomenon. What I do know is there are a lot of fucking recolours, which means that either Sonic 3 or SA2 was a mistake, depending on whether you view Knuckles as Red Sonic or not.Kugelfisch wrote: ↑Sun Sep 22, 2019 1:52 pmThe really weird mix of silly cartoony bullshit with trying to be more mature than Mario has been the catalyst for the worst autism.
Sonic Adventure 2 was 100% a mistake.

Some troll got him to watch EoE (without seeing the TV series IIRC) and he couldn't make sense of it. I know I could look up his reaction on the CWCki to be sure but nah fuck that.Kugelfisch wrote: ↑Sun Sep 22, 2019 9:54 pmHis mind is and was too childish for anything beyond pre-schooler level understanding. Re: What are you playing?
Imagine if he became a SMT dork and still made Sonichu, but with a Mara ripoff instead of a Sanic ripoff.
Metal Max is dope. It's like some Dragon Quest clone, but the combat looks like FF6, and you can pimp out tanks.AdorableOtter wrote: ↑Sun Sep 22, 2019 9:05 pmEarthbound is probably the best Dragon Quest style game though because writings are good and combat are much less not grindy. (and Metal Max series are good DQ alternatives too, probably)

Re: What are you playing?
Earthbound always seemed like a meme game for normies to REEEEEeeEEE and jack themselves off over, like an entry-level requirement for being a pretentious RPG hipster who thinks he knows RPGs.
I've been looking at all the various dragon quest games but they all seem kinda gay in one way or another.

You're not wrong about the hipster thing. These days there are a lot of people, mostly ones that weren't alive when it came out, pretending as if Earthbound was super popular or even a well loved cult classic.
That's really more of a recent development, though.
I fully blame Roo for it.

EB is famous for being obscure.
Weve been able to emulate it for like 20 years so I'm sure in some odd way it was popular in the faraway past among dummies.
I do like the music of the franchise.

"Hey guys, did you know Mother 3 is a sequel to the Earthbound series of games? You should really play it! *sniffs own farts over japan-only gba game made by developer that despises their USA fanbase*"Kugelfisch wrote: ↑Mon Sep 23, 2019 2:05 pmYou're not wrong about the hipster thing. Re: What are you playing?
Dunno how many claim EB was "super popular". You can't really talk about the rich history and lore of EB without going "... and it sold like shit when it was released in the West" somewhere. It's like the Doki Doki Panic of the franchise.Kugelfisch wrote: ↑Mon Sep 23, 2019 2:05 pmYou're not wrong about the hipster thing. I betcha most people's first contact with anything EB-related was Smash Bros, and many people probably wondered who that weird kid was.

Re: What are you playing?
They don't usually mention that it sold terribly. They much rather make it sound like it was somewhat exclusive or something.
When I was a kid there was a copy of it in the biggest local supermarket. I remember it so well because it was the huge box with the included walkthrough and because it wasn't locked up in the glass cabinet with the other SNES games but rather sat on top of it. It sat there for three or so years, collecting dust. Nobody wanted it.
