Same difference as far as I'm concerned. There are companies with a very strong set of ethics and standards. Those companies will remain true to those over decades and centuries because for every person that leaves, the new ones adopt that company philosophy. Rolex, Mercedes Benz and even Apple are good examples of that. They stay true to what they've always been.
But there are also companies that completely lose their soul when key people leave. id Software is a sad example of that. None of the spirit is left. It's practically dead.

On that note : What is it with internet creators and this form of softcore Stockholm syndrome, where they start doing what they do because they idolise the older nobodies, they do their shit, get famous and when the older nobodies do something like Sploony's Patreon Betrayal or Extra Faggot's "You're a Nazi now Harry" video, they don't even fucking hesitate to throw them under the bus while sobbing for them.
