Been watching Dragon Ball Super. I'm midway thru the 'Ressurection F' saga. I like it so far, I assume it gets worse?

Toriyama's good at gag writing, I'm surprised by how often the show is genuinely funny.

It's alright. I actually hated those first couple arcs that were worse versions of the last two movies.
The final arc lasts way too long and lost my interest, though. And the ending was Super obvious.

Honestly, rewatching Dragonball Z it’s absolutely terrible. Nothing good about it at all.

Easy mistake to make. Usually it's hipster weeb talk to recommend the mango over the animu. In DBZ's case it's really miles better. The humor is a bit raunchier and you're not bombarded with five hours of filler per episode. Shit gets done in the mango. When people want to fight they do and it's over in a few pages.

Why? Mango is usually the sauce materiel, you dont have to deal with any animay's gay fuckery and get the story how it was intended. Its not like you have to be literate to read manga.

Animu is more mainstream, and mangus can be confusing for fake weebs because you have to read from right to left.

Even ignoring the blatant problems that the anime adds, I think that’s superficial to what DBZ flaws are (and if the manga is different in that respect please let me know). The fights are uninteresting, as are the characters (and too many of them are there simply to lose to this arc’s villain) and death is a triviality.

True but it's often suggestions along the line of "read this 350 part mango on a computer screen to enjoy this story arc of a ten episode animu a tiny bit more".

I'd say the writing is a fair bit better because there aren't endless hours of internal monologues for one. The fights also benefit a lot from not being dragged out for added screen time. We all know where Dragonball starts to fall apart and it's no different in the mango, but at that point you only have like five issues to go as opposed to a lifetime of episodes.

It's really all the same problem. The manga is far more condensed or rather the anime is diluted and stretched out for airtime beyond belief. In print, none of the fights overstay their welcome and characters aren't stating the same shit over and over again. It's a very easy action comedy read.
I think a fair comparison is The Hobbit. They took a relatively short adventure story and tried to turn it into a multi-part magnum opus that rivals War & Piece in length. The Boo saga, in principle, isn't any better in the manga but there it's the last couple of issues and not something you'd have to sit through for actual hours.
