Even touching that stuff, man. It's like sucking a dick to "figure out" if you're gay or not. AoS should've been repulsive and unapproachable to you right away.VoiceOfReasonPast wrote: ↑Thu May 29, 2025 7:02 amI tried to convince them to check out onepagerules, but they never listen.

Animal care is just ungodly expensive. Funerals are already expensive, and pets don’t live nowhere near as long as humans, naturally or otherwise. I would say maybe they just need to make ends meet, but they’re probably being exploitative.Liar Revealed wrote: ↑Wed May 28, 2025 11:35 pmWe were talking about exploitation of grief earlier.
"Based on our conversation, your total is now $990.00 including the Private Cremation arrangement selected."
This is what they charged my brother for an in-home euthanasia. I didn't go this time, but it sounds like there's a pet funeral industry standard: the paw print, the hair clipping, the cremation, the urn, etc.
I overheard that they never got the hair trimming for my mom's cat. I'm pissed off about that and I feel they should refund some of the money they charged her. But my mom doesn't want to make an issue out of it.
My dog is cremated and his memento is a paw print in clay or whatever, I can’t remember the cost but it wasn’t cheap.

We also do Old World occasionally, but man is artillery broken in there.Kugelfisch wrote: ↑Thu May 29, 2025 8:28 amEven touching that stuff, man. It's like sucking a dick to "figure out" if you're gay or not. AoS should've been repulsive and unapproachable to you right away.
Also the whole fall back / retreat mechanic is giving me an aneurysm. I don't remember it being that obtuse in WFB.
At least I can cope by saying I only collect armies that were already cool in WFB.

I've never played it myself but from watching it always seemed as if there was a whole lot of fleeing troops.VoiceOfReasonPast wrote: ↑Thu May 29, 2025 12:51 pmAlso the whole fall back / retreat mechanic is giving me an aneurysm. I don't remember it being that obtuse in WFB.

Units in Old World don't really stay in melee. With the way the morale works, there's a pretty good chance the losing side of the round will have to at least fall back a few inches (a sort of milder form of a full retreat).Kugelfisch wrote: ↑Thu May 29, 2025 1:59 pmI've never played it myself but from watching it always seemed as if there was a whole lot of fleeing troops.

So soldiers who are winning end up falling back? That sounds retarded.

The loser falls back, and if you lose hard enough you rout completely.rabidtictac wrote: ↑Fri May 30, 2025 12:59 amSo soldiers who are winning end up falling back? That sounds retarded.

CC with morale checks is a source of endless pain and misery, unless you're undead and don't give a shit about morale, or a backstabbing rat shooting into your own ranks.

What about armies of muslims who believe in the 99 virgins? Why would they ever fall back?
