So, the entire Iberian Peninsula, plus Southern France, got a blackout (on top of the usual blacking), and people have speculated it was because they relied so much on inverter-based renewable energy (solar and wind) that the system became dangerously vulnerable to fluctuations in AC frequency - a drop of 0.15Mhz took their grid out and it took an entire day to start getting it back online. Congratulations fools, you played yourselves.
