Re: God Emperor Megathread (Trump and his presidency)
So, the first night of the RNC was... pretty okay.
In the end, it's just a long infomercial, but it was effective. One thing I notice is that the Left's response to it is weak. Most of the criticisms I've seen amount to nothing more than trying to spot "racist" dog-whistles in every speech.
Oh and in the segment where Trump speaks with freed American hostages, no one is social distancing! Gasp!
And that's about all they've got.
Also, the media and pundits are REALLY out of touch with the public with this continued vilification of the McCloskeys, the St. Louis couple who famously defended their mansion with guns (and never fired a single shot) after the BLM crowd broke down the gate to their community so they could march there. Why is the Left pretending like everyone hasn't seen 500 videos this year of "protesters" setting things on fire and looting and beating people up? The average, not-insane person knows that the McCloskeys didn't do anything wrong. Inviting them to speak at the RNC was a good move, I think, and it was a good segment.

It's not just about seeing twitter videos of things on fire everywhere. If you live in a liberal shithole, then odds are good the rioting has happened in your own town. The country is being torn apart by BLM antifags. All Trump has to do to get the vote of a normal person is point at that shit and say "nah, fam." Democrats won't even give that much to their audience. They won't even admit that rampant violence and burning stuff is bad.
Everyone I know is just gobsmacked at the rioting. Seems like they don't even know how to process it.

The libshit response is to ignore it or spend about one tweet about it while talking about their dog, amusing tech humor, or how they can't seem to watch enough bees pollinate their flowers outside their super-rich home.rabidtictac wrote: ↑Tue Aug 25, 2020 7:12 amDemocrats won't even give that much to their audience. They treat all of it as about the same as every other item a bored, out-of-touch snob would about something to pass along their feed--brief interest. Somehow I feel like that's the worst response. I wouldn't think it was possible that these people could be more selfish or self-centered.
Congrats, you Dems somehow made me loathe you even more. Deep down--they're all Spoony.
...and still: Spoony did nothing.

They're so fucking smug that it won't happen in their neighborhoods. They gleefully cheer "Burn it all down, man!" As the fires engulf local businesses and city buildings, secure in the knowledge that, of course, THEIR property won't be destroyed. "It's just property!" They scream, smuckling to themselves on their iphones, as they walk back to their cars to drive to their homes. Which are all undamaged and unlooted. "It's just property."
No, you piece of shit. It's not just property. It represents something. A car represents years. That's how long most take to pay it off. Years of working. A business represents a lifetime. That's how long a small business owner might spend working it, IF they can make ends meet and live the American dream. Otherwise, they go bust, because they've poured everything into it. They work 60+ hours a week running that small business. Many of them live just above their shop.
Their position is so OBVIOUSLY from the point of view of someone thinking "what I do to others will never be done to ME!" and smuckling about it. Makes me mad just thinking about that kind of scumfuck. They can't imagine how it would feel to see your whole life burned up in smoke because of some drug addict in another state that you never even heard of and who has no relevance to your life.

It's also about the economic future of a place. If I were looking to open a business somewhere or expand a business into other cities in the US, Portland would be the LAST fucking place I would do it. If I owned a business there, I would look into my options for leaving.rabidtictac wrote: ↑Tue Aug 25, 2020 2:12 pmNo, you piece of shit. It's not just property. It represents something. And I would make sure that it wasn't a place that went along with #defundthepolice.
Losing businesses (and often losing the middle and upper class along with them) has devastating effects on a city that can last generations.
A lot of mayors and governors could stand to learn from Detroit, a city that still hasn't recovered from riots that happened over fifty years ago.

A speaker at the RNC was a former Cuban national who attested the evils of Communism and warned anyone listening that he's seen the Democrat playbook before and was tearing up at the thought of America falling to commies. I try to find this individual speaker on say...Youtube/Google and the only shit that comes up is Donald Jr being lambasted, and headlines reading "Revolutionary Communist protest against the RNC".
