They've infested universities because almost everyone goes to university. If people stopped going to university and started going to trade schools, they'd find a way to take that over as well.

SO, our beloved Patton Oswalt, seeing himself get lumped in with the blue checkmarks who said genuinely disturbing shit about the Covington kids, is now dialing back his rhetoric. I might respect this a little, JUST a little, if I thought this backtrack came from genuine reflection rather than him simply being a Hollywood weasel. Meanwhile, the replies are a sea of his followers turning against him for it.

I mean there's no reason to do it. Their fans/followers are all full-frothing crazies that want these high schoolers humiliated and flayed.
All I can think of is that they are either legitimately worried about legal action or they hope they use this as cover for their next freakout.

There's no way to spin this. The truth has come out and the truly disgusting shit they've all said is staring them in the face. They were the ones who decided to incite violence against children on a public platform. People now know that the whole story was a lie. Just more fake news and they tried to get people beat up off of a fake story.
