If people can't afford real goods not made on Temu then we need to improve the economy and real wages so our citizens can afford to buy what they need!

I realize we cannot always separate ourselves from Chinese goods. Like with computer parts. Maybe selective tariffs on Temu bullshit would be the way to go. Tax the shit out of Temu-quality goods until they're just as expensive as the brands they're stealing from. That would be hilarious. Want some cheap plastic bullshit water bottle? Now it costs the same as a name-brand water bottle. It'd be cool if we could figure out a way to exempt chinese shit we actually need from tariffs while taxing the chinese bullshit we don't need.

Pretty much. Trump winning the popular vote was salt to the wound. Winning the popular vote even by a hair would be preferable to a complete humiliation. A raw popular vote system is shit, this was true before and is still true even though Trump won the Popular Vote this time. People's pocketbooks are hurting, so they punished the incumbent, with a wounded ticket on top of that - it was a 'perfect storm' really. I think our current system also kinda sucks, we're having elections get decided by well below even 1 million people with everyone elses votes meaning very little. I like what Nebraska does, where we split up the delegates by Congressional District. That would force more active engagement, because there are blue districts in Alabama, and red districts in New York. You'd have to unfuck our gerrymandering, which both parties do, and the team sport shit our politics operate under, but I think its workable.

The reality is Democrats want to avoid campaigning in rural communities. Rural communities require active engagement, the candidate is going to have to drive to various bumfuck towns, actually talk to people, and at the bare minimum charm them to their side (the strategy that won Obama Iowa twice, more are less). This is a party that are a little like IN's, in that they'd rather be cowardly and lazy, and then just blame their loss on the bugged game mechanics. I saw this play out in our local congressional race, the local Democratic chair let major party leaders endorse the Republican, Don Bacon. This lady was friendly with him, but this lazy cunt chair couldn't even convince her to just decline to endorse - she endorsed Bacon in 2022, too - so people would get the gist. Bacon won, and A lot of people now want the cunt to step down, she's blaming the backlash on sexism (bugged gender mechanics).
