I don't even care. Head writer chooses one of the lead actors from the thing he's most famous for writing. Hardly surprising.

Frankly I don't know why anyone cares one way or another, the show has "survived" worse things than what may be a poor casting choice (I dunno, I've never watched Broadchurch). This is coming from someone who is probably way too big a fan of the show too, having seen most of the Classic series, the New series, lots of the novels and who owns an embarrassing number of the radio dramas (about 90GB worth on my MP4 at last count) .
