Justice League was mediocre shit. MOS had awesome destruction scenes, BVS had that cool Batman fight, while JL had a cartoon face. There is nothing at all memorable about it. It's literally a movie you watch then forget you watched it a few months later.
Batman is so fucking neutered in this movie. He's basically a less cool Tony Stark in Baby Spider: Homecoming. He just shows up periodically to pep up the team then disappears while WW and Aquaman do any real fighting. He doesn't come off smart, savvy, or even particularly dangerous. He's like a bloated middle-aged drunk who knows some MMA moves and has a weird grappling gun.
Fuck Joss Whedon. I defended Ultron despite its weaknesses, but JL exposes him as the incompetent tv director he truly is. The worst parts of the movie are all the scenes we know he reshot. And replacing Junkie XL for goddamn Danny Elfman is truly fucking reprehensible. It doesn't look like a Marvel movie, but it sounds and behaves like one. Generic noise softly blaring in the background while our heroes stand back-to-back in front of a green screen shooting at a CG army.
Fucking noise all of it.

Is Danny Elfman really that bad? I don't pay too close attention to film scores, I just know he's the Simpsons, Tim Burton, and Oingo Boingo man.Guest wrote: ↑Mon Mar 26, 2018 9:44 pmAnd replacing Junkie XL for goddamn Danny Elfman is truly fucking reprehensible.

He was great in his day. I don't know what it is these days, but either the studios are telling these guys to make their music bland, or they just get that way with age.
John Williams is the same way-- his 20th century music was great and his 21st century music is totally forgettable.

Everyone remembers that krunk Batman theme but he's done nothing as good ever. He's the proto Michael Giacchino. Critically acclaimed, beloved by fans, but churns out forgettable generic shit by the ton.Guest wrote: ↑Tue Mar 27, 2018 6:25 amIs Danny Elfman really that bad? This is where I point out all the nuStar Wars movies have been very successful and critically acclaimed. Black Panther is being hailed as the second coming of cinema.Cuckara wrote: ↑Mon Mar 26, 2018 9:44 pmWhether you like him or not there's no denying he has a directing style that the general public really likes. What does any of that have to do with the fact that Nolan has been immensely successful without Heath Ledger?

Any time Warners have a new project they always offer it to Nolan first and David Yates second. They don't do that because of Ledger. They do that because Nolan makes money

Ledger died for our sins.
