I read Superman: Red Son, where Superman becomes a hero of Stalin's Russia. Good subversionist story, I can see why its considered a classic. I don't know if the timeskips work, though; Batman is just sort of there after the midpoint. He's like this anarchist terrorist, though; esp with Brainiac as the main villain effectively.

Also President Lex Luthor winds up saving the day....orange man good?

It's a bit sillier in the animated version, where there's a kid in a gulag that Supes liberates who couldn't be more obviously Batman.

Also love how they used the short-lived Bronze Age Brainiac. I just prefer Proto-Necron over Green Dude.

I'll say this for Gunn's Superman, I'm reading comics again for the first time in like 20 years.

A little nervous about the current year stuff. I read an issue of Aquaman where he's clearly Jason Momoa coded and it just wasn't doing it for me. I'm sure it gets much worse.
