Re: Movie Thread
In the good old days when Bond was actually Bond this new 007 would be a gag. M would be in his office and press a button to ask MoneyPenny to send in 007 and the negress would walk in. Then Bond would fuck her, she’s get killed and by the end Bond would be 007 again and the next film would never mention it.

This is the nitpickiest Linkara shit I ever heardGuest wrote: ↑Wed Sep 09, 2020 5:43 amBeing temporarily suspended isn't the same as having his number given to another person. Ian Fleming created him as Agent 007. His number is part of his identity.

That burns coming from one of the CW's most loyal viewers.
That's one way to come out of the closet.

Re: Movie Thread
Let's take a book longer than The Lord of the Rings and try to make it a single movie. Again. Even Lynch couldn't make an adaptation work.

Love how they never thought to give it the TV treatment. Unlike George Diabeetus Martin and Gay of Thongs, Dune is established, you can rip right off the source material, and there's enough content for like 10 years of TV and consistent money, but nope, they'd rather get their nut out on a single shitty film which nobody will know what's going on and genuine fans of the books won't see.

I haven't been following nu-Doon at all and had no idea that it wasn't gonna be a film series until just now. Holy fuck, idiots.

Re: Movie Thread
Villeneuve has stated that this film will cover the first half of the novel. If it's successful, the studio will greenlight a film that will cover the second half of the novel. It's a precarious situation; on the one hand, it's good that the studio didn't tell Villeneuve to cram everything into one film, but on the other hand, it'll be incredibly frustrating if the first film flops and we never get to see Villeneuve adapt the entire novel.

Re: Movie Thread
As much as I love Dune, I'm not optimistic about this. Movie looks grey and miserable(except maybe for Momoa), like Lynch but without the visual weirdness.Cuckara wrote: ↑Thu Sep 10, 2020 12:09 amVilleneuve has stated that this film will cover the first half of the novel. And they're already very clearly sequelbaiting with the crusade references(setting up the events of Dune Messiah).
Re: Movie Thread
The lead is played by gayest "man" in Hollywood, and Villanoob swapped a shit-ton of races to be more progressive. Recipe for suck, that is. I can't wait for half the runtime to consist of actors staring thoughtfully into the distance.CuckTurdginson wrote: ↑Wed Sep 09, 2020 10:28 pmDune trailers out - Villeneuve is the only guy who could possibly make the material work - so im hopeful
