Another part that makes me laugh is that the people who defend the movie always posts the same screenshot of a review and highlight the first sentence but don't look at the last sentence which says that the director did a piss poor job at conveying it.

The only good ending for such a movie would be if the main character realized the error of her ways and joined ISIS.
Not before murdering her friends, of course.

Man, I dunno. That was some silly shit. They tried to cram in every single MK character ever, it felt like pandering.

That's pretty much what all of these fighting game movies do, whether they're animu or live-action.

People seem to not really know how to translate the fuckhuge ensemble cast of a fighting game into a movie. They just love the story blueprint of the underdog who rises to the challenge and defeats the big bad guy at the end.
Even the story of animu fighters is generally "A bunch of random blokes run around aimlessly and fight each other, then the main character defeats the main bad guy who was working on some weird doomsday keikaku involving the settings esoteric magic system". That doesn't sound like it would fit into a single movie.
Even when shit like Guilty Gear Xrd just straight-up makes a movie as a story, it's still long af and jumps all over the place, with multiple sub-plots that barely have anything to do with anything.

MK Annihilation was amazing. Terrible acting but a great soundtrack and cool fights.

Maybe it was for the better. Nowadays you have "fans" of the games making "dark" movies and shows like that fucktarded MK thing a few years back with 7 of 9 as Sonya Blade, or the upcoming Mortal Kombat reboot movie that looks so edgy it should be promoted exclusively on MySpace. They fill that shit wall to wall with long overly choreographed fights that get boring after the first thirty seconds.

As it was common many moons ago, they knew this whole premise was silly and just decided to have some fun.
Nowadways it all has to be dark and serious, with the main character being some deep, tortured individual who has to spend 3 movies going through some highly-emotional story arc.
