Well, SkyNet technically has "parents", as well, so this is not exactly a new problem.

But no single person makes an AI as important as one handling the national defence system. Preventing one or two engineers being born won't do shit and the idea of making one isn't going to get wiped out forever doing so either. It's more plausible to be impossible to prevent. Plus some AI that can be on thousands of servers and is thus pretty much unkillable is scarier than some nigger pushing buttons.
