I hope Kathleen Kennedy gets her grubby hands on Twin Peaks.

Mark Frost made shitty tie in novels to the third season where Trump was a member of the Black Lodge.Lindsay's Liver wrote: ↑Fri Jan 17, 2025 3:19 pmI choose to trust that Mark Frost has some integrity.

One would hope Twin Peaks is dead. "The Return" had the market value of David Lynch with full creative control, nothing else about the new season is sellable otherwise.
Of course, we live in a world with Spider-manless Spiderman villain movies, and new Indiana Jones projects that are not Indy in World War 2, so the rule of Spoony can't be written off.

This is a good point. That's exactly how "The Return" was sold when it came out.CuckTurdginson wrote: ↑Fri Jan 17, 2025 9:06 pmOne would hope Twin Peaks is dead. "The Return" had the market value of David Lynch with full creative control, nothing else about the new season is sellable otherwise.

I'll never understand how someone at Soyny thought it was a feasible idea to make a MCU clone with z-tier Spurdoman's villains and characters.
Why didn't they try with a Miles Morales live action movie instead? That may have worked.

I'm pretty sure they would've done so if they had the rights for Miles. Seems all they have are the Sinister Six.

It's a finished story and I find it difficult to believe there's anyone left that can pick it up and do something meaningful with it.Rushy wrote: ↑Fri Jan 17, 2025 12:24 amWhy? Lynch was one of two creators. They both directed, and both were absent at different times.
Not trying to denigrate Lynch or anything, I love his work, but Twin Peaks can and has functioned perfectly fine without him. He was only truly prevalent in the pilot, the movie and season 3.
Not everything needs to get remade and added onto just because somebody holds the IP rights, eventually running it into the ground. No good story goes on in perpetuity.

Re: Dead Celebrities aren't much fun
It's a major loser for filmmakers, too. Which is why they were only able to hire a TV director for Madame Web, which the micromanagers butchered into oblivion in post production anyway. You're going to get a massive paycheck for something the producers will just come in and render unwatchable regardless, and will be hovered over more than even Marvel, who are also pretty bad about that? Forget it.Complicity wrote: ↑Sat Jan 18, 2025 7:35 amI'll never understand how someone at Soyny thought it was a feasible idea to make a MCU clone with z-tier Spurdoman's villains and characters.
