All Disenchantment really proves is that it's not the plots being exhausted and the characters becoming stale that make Zombie Simpsons and Zombie Futurama so shit. It's the fact that Groening and all the people in his orbit have become aging hacks.

Disenchantment never elicited one laugh from me, and I suffered through the first ten episodes (I would have tapped out after 2 or 3 but some people were like 'it gets better towards the end').

Futurama was fucking great at first. You had the Simpsons, which were already shit but still looked upon fondly for the first several seasons.
But then Futurama came along and was everything the Simpsons wasn't anymore.

Then they fucked it up in record time. Nobody was hyped for Disenchantment. It looked like hack shit from the get go and was even worse. Ill bet same writing staff as current Simpsons. It's criminally bad.

I Thought Futurama was considered to be a great show as a whole (I've only saw the first half of the first episode but everyone I ever heard talked about to considers it the best television has to offer)

What Happened and when?

Basically they made the mistake of bringing it back after they cancelled it. The original run was great and it's a shame that Fox being dicks is what killed it. But the revival was immensely unfunny dogshit

Disenchantment on the other hand, was just boring as hell. Futurama broke ground away from the Simps while Disenchantment couldn't get away from either show. I mean ffs, there was a medieval episode of the Simpsons that came out in between the year of Disenchantment's announcement and premiere so it's almost hard not to compare them.

It's especially hard to not compare them because unlike Futurama, Disenchantment more readily steals character designs from the Simpsons (hi, Green Bart).

I'm just as surprised. I ha end heard about it from anyone or anywhere since the first episode was out.

I think the general consensus for the first season was "All episodes but the last were terrible". Riveting stuff.

The thing with Zombie Simpsons and Zombie Futurama is that they're offensively bad. 'Offensively' because they used to be great, and everyone remembers when they were great, and now it's offensive to see them become so poor. They're also full of obnoxious shilling for the Democrat party and every libshit policy and talking point under the sun (The Simpsons are the worst offenders of this but Futurama also got it in with muh gay marriage and repeatedly tonguing Al Gore's balls)

Disenchantment is just poor. It doesn't have the 'it used to be good but now it sucks' pedestal that Simpsons and Futurama had so it's not even worth the getting upset that it's so poor. It doubtless has the libshit politics too, but the show is just so bland that even that is not worth the ire.

Heavens no.

My theory is that because the critics also hated it, they killed it. If the critics had loved it then they would have renewed it despite the fact that only the most soy of soys didn't despise it intensely, and the ratings fell off a cliff after the first week.

Just look at Disenchantment, that Matt Groening show that manages to be worse than Zombie Simpsons AND Zombie Futurama put together, and is easily one of the worst things I've ever seen. They fucking renewed that for another 20 episodes. Why? Literally no real person I can think of actually liked it and no one watches or talks about it. Why? Because the critics were broadly positive toward it, that's why.

Another good example is Star Trek Discovery or STD. No one liked it, no one watches it but it's still going on even though all the real people hate it, because the critics are propping it up

Santa Inc. is getting a second season despite critics not even touching it. But maybe that is because members of the tribe are vocal about it.

Santa Inc. was designed to get a second season out of sheer spite. Not continuing it would be seeing as them "caving in to white supremacy and anti-semitism".
