They would have been even more suspicious if they'd known that the Romulan commander looks exactly like Spock's dad! (They're played by the same actor.)Kugelfisch wrote: ↑Tue Sep 17, 2019 2:06 am"Balance of Terror" to be specific. It was an actual submarine thriller story re-written slightly. Possibly one of the best, maybe even the best episode of TOS. It's the one where Spock is being suspected as a possible spy because they realize that Romulans are basically the same race as Vulcans.Guest wrote: ↑Mon Sep 16, 2019 10:30 pmWhat episode?
Anyway, battle mode is fine. It works because subs, helicopters and aeroplanes basically have that. Tanks aren't especially bright inside either. Doesn't have to make too much sense because it kinda feels right. It sets the mood for serious conflict time.
But when they are just casually cruising around it really shouldn't be that fucking dark.

Re: STD
I think he also played a Romulan on TNG. He was a recurring actor for minor characters in ST for quite a while.

All Romulans look the same, anyways.

Re: STD
He only ever played Sarek on TNG
Yeah, they'd do that on Babylon 5 too. When your actors dress up and wear a lot of make-up for certain parts it's very easy to reuse the same ones as different aliens, without the audience saying 'Hey, that's the actor that played [part]'Kugelfisch wrote: ↑Thu Sep 19, 2019 1:50 amHe was a recurring actor for minor characters in ST for quite a while.
