Re: Movie Thread
I've heard about that play existing, but not what it's about or if it's any good.
Still, it's an actual continuation, not some unecessary prequel about an evil wizard whose involvement with the HP lore basically boils down to "An asshole who got roflstomped by Dumblydore decades ago". Probably just want to work towards the gay relationship both wizards totally had according to Rowling.
Would've been way more interesting seeing a Hitler-style prequel of Voldiemort's rise to power, even if that ending is even more predictable.

I've been pondering, should I go real crazy and watch a full Uwe Boll movie, Postal. I've watched a couple scenes from youtube and, to my great surprise, I really like these.
But I don't know.. Is the whole movie thoroughly that good? I doubt that.

It's tone is consistent but it's got a couple super boring parts. Likely still the best Boll movie, for whatever that is worth.

Being a fan of the series, I bought a physical copy. It's the most ridiculous kind of fanfiction where Harry Potter and Draco Malfoy's sons turn emo about living under the shadow of famous fathers and steal a time machine to change things. After that, it's just mostly nostalgiawanking about stuff from the previous books. And, you know, making Voldemort/Bellatrix(the chick played by Helena Bonham Carter) canon so we could have a villain. Snape gets brought back to life at one point.VoiceOfReasonPast wrote: ↑Sun Nov 18, 2018 8:44 amI've heard about that play existing, but not what it's about or if it's any good.
It's also insanely convoluted for a play, there's like scene changes every other page or so, lots of flashy spells and the like. The entire Potter cast of characters is involved so there's tons of actors needed, some switching between roles. It's kind of a clusterfuck.

From Uwe Boll I've seen House of the Dead and Alone in the Dark, they do have their moments of lolz, but for the most part they are just dull fucking bore. I just found out Boll has also a movie called Auschwitz. For a moment it got my hopes up, did this guy really had balls to do a mockery film about the subject, but naaah, it apparenly is his only serious film and he wanted to present the horrors of Auschwitz and blahblah. Can't this goddamn klutz do anything right.Kugelfisch wrote: ↑Sun Nov 18, 2018 6:32 pmIt's tone is consistent but it's got a couple super boring parts. Boll was good at abusing German tax laws and making gaymur's weep.
Also I just remembered he's named Albus, which is totally not cliché as fuck.
And I hope Snape got resurrected by magical dragon orbs.
Voldemort Jr. sounds lame. They should've instead doubled-down on the cringe and make Harry Jr. turn evil.Rushy wrote: ↑Sun Nov 18, 2018 7:34 pmBeing a fan of the series, I bought a physical copy. Boll's made a couple of watchable movies. Tunnel Rats was actually decent. If you didn't know he directed it you'd be all "that wasn't terrible" afterward.

Postal is just about the only movie of his that actually works. It's very close to Postal 2 in it's writing and humor. Which is super low-brow but features lots of pointless, comical violence. I think it's fine for what it is.

I still think Rampage is Boll's best. I touch myself to this scene occasionally.
