I Thought Futurama was considered to be a great show as a whole (I've only saw the first half of the first episode but everyone I ever heard talked about to considers it the best television has to offer)

What Happened and when?
It got canceled and when it came back it wasn't the same. (Same with Family Guy.) A lot of the good writers weren't able to come back and Groening hired Al Gore's daughter as one of the replacement writers.

Actually Al Gore's daughter wrote for the original run, not the revival. That came about as a result of the Futurama people majorly sucking Al Gore's balls.

Check out how successful her career was on IMDB. Groening totally hired her on merit, not as a favor for Al Gore.

I think someone said Al Gore's condition for doing a guest voice for them (in the first Anthology of Interest episode) was that they give his daughter a job.

That doesn't sound like nepotism at all.

Perhaps you're thinking of Marion Zimmer Bradley
