I hated Grievous, for all of the reasons you said. He seemed like a level-end boss in level one of some video game. George hilariously failed in making this character into a badass action figure for kids to buy (same as he did with that non-character Jango Fett). His character is total bullshit-- he's just some part robot-part lizard thing and yet he can best Jedi with a lightsaber?! IIRC, Obi-Wan had to cheat with a blaster to beat him, something the real Ben Kenobi would never do.

At least the cartoon painted him as some warrior dude who got turned into Evil Alien RoboCop with super-strength. That helped a bit. At least until that one episode where he got captured by Gungans.

And yeah, Lightsaber Palpatine. I try to forget him because his fight scenes are pretty silly.

2003 Grievous was ridiculous but at least he was a threat unlike both versions after, he wasn't imcompetent and didn't fuck up nearly as much as the Clone Wars one and he had a better reason to be wheezing in III than just a wound: Windu partially cushed the parts that held his organs with the dark side

So, it seems Wonder Woman is the first DCEU movie to finally get rave reviews, but it all seems too late at this point considering Marvel dominates the capeshit market. Plus, those high review scores are awfully suspicious. They seem more like it's either out of pity coming out of the last 3 shitty DC films or how WB was essentially pandering to 3rd wave feminists given the current political climate we live in and it only managed to please the majority of liberal critics and desperate capeshit fanatics. I wonder how much they paid off critics to inflate the scores.

It's being shilled to high heaven. A) because it's not outright awful like Cisbusters and B) because if you don't like it you're a sexist

And also because... Have you seen the AAA movie marketing campaigns lately? Seems like absolutely everything gets ridiculous levels of shilling. These film execs are desperately trying to convince normies to pay out for tickets on every AAA "blockbuster."

I said this on 2.0, but Hollywood is copying video game marketing. Create a bunch of bullshit, manufactured hype and have people shill it like fucking crazy. Around 2012 there was fatigue amongst gamers with people making MLG parodies of game trailers, and people hating hyped games is a thing now because they have been burned too many times. That is starting to happen with movies now, with many sceptical about how good Wonder Woman really is.

And of course, Hollywood execs will brag about their revenue from the increase in ticket prices all while ignoring/damage controlling the fact that the domestic film industry's ticket sales are shrinking year after year.

Only 15 foreign films are allowed a year. Though there taste is a bit different, the Warcraft movie did insanely well while stuff like the new Star Wars didn't do as well as they thought.

I think the current canon explanation is that his cyborg body isn't warm enough, so he has a permanent cold. Jus tone of the many prequel things that sound more stupid the more you think about them.
