Movie Thread
Re: Movie Thread
Beyond wasn't too bad. It still sucks as a movie, but it showed potential for a post-JJ series that could be entertaining without remaking the old movies. It was horribly low-budget though. There are no space battles and they sidelined the Enterprise as fast as fucking possible so everyone could hike around a national park for 90 minutes.

Re: Movie Thread
Them being made up bullshit (or I guess even more made up bullshit) was just the final nail in the coffin for me. From what little I've seen, it looked like hot garbage anyway. I just consider that fucking Jew insisting on fucking with the most awesome captain instead of making up his own the final insult on top of injury.Guest wrote: ↑Thu Oct 25, 2018 9:52 pmEven if they were canon I wouldn't give a shit about them. I never understood the nerd obsession with continuity, at least in regards to movies. Tv shows are another story, but since when did any of the ST movies' story elements influence the tv shows?

Re: Movie Thread
Old Trek movies were kinda clever in terms of canon since all of them take place after their respective series, even using newer/fancier uniforms and ships to set them apart from the show.
(With the exception of Generations where they where still using the Enterprise D - before it got blown up - and they used a real uniform clusterfuck of the ones from TNG and DS9.)

They at least didn't feel like cynical action trash #398431 straight from the assembly line. The nu-Star Trek movies reek of that from the trailers alone.

Eugh, such fucking shit I couldn't even make it past 45 seconds. Now keep this in mind.
I've just watched Sicario 2: Electric Boogaloo. Pretty good. The pro is no dumb bitch around this time. The con is no dumb bitch around this time.
Everyone who didn't watch Sicario because of Emely Blunt, I understand. What you have to understand is that she is not the main character of the movie. She's the viewer's vehicle, constantly in the dark about everything and just the dumb bitch to stumble along. You'll appreciate it by the end of the movie.
The second movie is much more straight forward. That's what's worse about it. You already know the characters and you know what they are about. While in the first movie you're tagging along with Missy Dipshit and are just as clueless but also just as surprised, you know what you're going to get in this box of chocolates and it's some kinda stale shit you're getting. It's still okay for a straight forward thing but falls short of the initial movie by far in pretty much all regards. The story is worse, the tension isn't as high, the mystery is not there. I had way higher expectations for this movie.

How usual is it for two brothers to go tranny together? Feel like this is a one-in-a-million thing.
It's funny because on The Matrix docs they seem almost like dudebros.

The Nun wasn't bad. It was better than that Annabelle shit and afterward I pounded off to Taissa Farmiga in the theater bathroom. I haven't done that since 2004, if that tells you anything.

Probably just a distraction from the lack of content.Guest wrote: ↑Fri Oct 26, 2018 2:02 pmHow usual is it for two brothers to go tranny together? Feel like this is a one-in-a-million thing.

Or maybe one of them actually is trans, and the other one just tags along for reasons. Who knows.
