I doubt Netflicks could do better. Guaranteed to be full of nergroid diversity hires I'm sure.

Wouldn't it be cultural appropriation if they don't hire VAs of Japanese descent (plus a half-blood for Asuka)? I mean, SJWs are always reeeing about how a (voice) actor should be a 100% copy of the character they're playing. I mean, that's one of the reason why they're making these various reboots in the first place.

Though come to think about it, I wouldn't mind a gag dub that literally sounds like The Boondocks.

It's complicated. Those very first appearances the character was called simply "Neko" and she died. She's obviously the prototype for Neko-musume though. As you've demonstrated, the publication history for Gegege no Kitaro over the decades is extremely complex, and "continuity" is extremely messy.

I have a fondness for the 1985 anime as that's the first version I ever saw. That version also really solidified the Gegege no Family as we know it today.

I think that complication happened because Graveyard Kitaro episodes were re-written/edited and republished as Gegege Kitaro episodes, even though they are completely different manga with different protagonists.

I personally prefer immature selfish Graveyard version Kitaro because he actually has a personality and Kitaro/Rat Man friendship makes sense (they have similar personalities). Also, story is less predictable because it's not about typical good-vs-evil.

Also, check out the Hakaba no Kitaro anime if you can find it. "Neko" appears in it, played by Shoko Nakagawa.

I checked out a few episodes of Hakaba Kitaro (on YT), and it seemed very faithful to the original material, and naturally this can be the definitive anime version of Kitaro for me. It's a damn shame Hakaba version Kitaro is pretty much forgotten.

I would recommend Hakaba to newcomers as it actually shows Kitaro's origin story, but the current anime is the most easily accessible and is also an OK place to start.

I'm just wondering when Kitaro's archenemy Nurarihyon is going to show up. They must be saving him for something. I wonder if he's the creepy guy in the mask.

Caught up with Kaiji. One Poker is over and now the current arc doesn't have any gambling and it's instead a big heist sorta deal.
Apparently the Tonegawa gag manga and anime spinoffs are doing well and theres gonna be another live action movie, a decade after the last one. (a nip LA movie, not that Chink knockoff)

That’s because SJWs are exempt to their own rules. Those are only to give cis het white male scum a hard time.

The pecking order goes this way. White-Asian-Aboriginal/Native-Indian-Arabic-Spic-Nigger. If the first entry were absent, the next one would be the most hated, right up till you get to the bottom rung.

Factors like gender and sexuality make subjects exempt in the mind of the SJW, hence why we have so many white kids calling themselves queer to avoid the persecution they have for others. If we moved the alpha threat, the next rung would be promptly attacked.
